Information about licenses available for Sql.Net
Sql.Net offers a dual licensing model. Sql.Net is provided free of charge under the Free Software/Open Source GNU General Public License (GPL) and also a commercial license with no open source restrictions.
GPLSql.Net is 100% GPL. If your software is GPL compliant, then you have no obligation to buy a commercial license. In case you are not familiar with GPL, the following passage is a short description of the license. The complete license can be found here.
The software comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY. The software is free, along with its source code, but subject to the terms of the GNU General Public License. This means anyone can redistribute the program at their will, as long as they leave the license and copyright notices intact, make no changes to the source code, and make the source code freely available with any compiled files. Anyone may also make changes to the source code as long as they leave the original copyright notice, make it clear that any changes they make are theirs and not the original author's, and place the modified version under the GNU General Public License.
Commercial LicenseWhen your application is not licensed under either the GPL-compatible Free Software License as defined by the Free Software Foundation or approved by OSI, and you intend to or you may distribute Sql.Net software, you must first obtain a commercial license to the Sql.Net product. Visit the online purchase page to learn how the license can be obtained.
